In the last two years, the focus has shifted from mitigation to adaptation in relation to climate change. Alongside that a radical rethink of the way systems operate. Systems innovation first popularised in the 70s, has remerged with the development of new design-thinking processes and a boom in doughnut economics.
These methodologies open up new models for business. With adaptation and systems change comes huge investment potential in global infrastructure, insurance, and start-up support. The technology required for the green transition exists, it is finance, business models, operations, education, and public buy-in that become the new frontier.
